Dementia 2012 Seminar

The ‘Dementia 2012’ seminar will take place on 30 March 2012 at the Stormont Hotel, Belfast, Northern Ireland. This event is aimed at anyone working with people with dementia in Northern Ireland and is free of charge. The aim of the event is to celebrate and share the good working practice in Dementia care within Northern Ireland.

 

The programme will include:
 
Innovations in Dementia Care presented by Professor June Andrews,  Dementia  Services Development Centre
 
Northern Ireland Premier of WRINKLES – an animated feature length film protraying the friendship between Emilio with early stage Alzheimers and Miguel. The film was nominated for an Annie award and is currently up for two GOYA awards.
 
Workshops -  Delegates have a choice of the following workshops upon booking (one from category A and one from category B)

Northern Ireland Dementia Excellence Awards
 
Mr Edwin Poots MLA, Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety will present the Northern Ireland Dementia Excellence Awards at ‘Dementia 2012’. Call for award nominations are NOW OPEN for the following categories.
 
1)       Dementia friendly organisation
2)       Education and training programme
3)       Dementia and the Arts
4)       Support worker of the year
5)       Dementia design innovation of the year
6)       Team of the year
7)       Carer of the year
 
You can nominate yourself, a colleague or someone from your personal life. Simply complete the nomination form which can be downloaded by clicking here and post, fax or email and scan. The closing date is 8 March 2012 at 12 noon, no late applications will be accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations will be subject to a £75 administration fee, although name changes with in the same organisation will be accepted free of charge at anytime.
